This was a good read. I wish there were more information yet I understand there not being enough as most of it is either hidden, written off as fiction or destroyed altogether because no one wants to believe that black women pretty much ran the ancient world. It's true yet it is hidden if not destroyed because we live in a world under patriarchal reign which also thrives on racism and sexism. Not to mention that many indigenous people also had oral history, while the books kept by the indigenous Amerindian people were either stolen or destroyed. This is why it is important that we tell and own our story so to preserve that which we KNOW (and not speculate, like European colonists) about ourselves.Product details

This was very interesting!! I am enamored by Queen Calafia's strength, command, lack of fear, perseverance, and humbling.
Meticulously researched and annotated, as well as a fascinating story. Should appeal to all history enthusiasts and anybody else interested in the myriad quirky events that led to the formation of the United States. A must-read for anybody who lives in California. One hopes that Jones will tackle other states.
Must Read, highly visible and full of color short of Satyricon!
After hearing stories of people trying to explain the name the usual way of roots, it really made no sense to me so I got notice of this story and decided to read it. I am now convinced and liked the conclusion.
